I gcás go ndéanfar iarratas an 1ú lá d'Eanáir, 1978, nó dá éis chun an Aire ar cheadúnas fartha bóthair srianta a dheonú do dhuine nach duine den chinéal a thuairiscítear in alt 7 (1) (a) den Acht um Iompar ar Bhóithre, 1935 nó ar cheadúnas marsantais a dheonú nó a athnuachan, ní lamhálfaidh an tAire an ceadúnas ach amháin sa chás go mbeidh ceadúnas fartha bóthair a bheidh i bhfeidhm de thuras na huaire ina sheilbh ag an iarratasóir.
Where on or after the 1st day of January, 1978, an application is made to the Minister for the grant of a restricted road freight licence to a person who is not a person of the description contained in section 7(1) (a) of the Road Transport Act, 1935 or the grant or renewal of a merchandise licence, the Minister shall only allow the application if the applicant is the holder of a road freight certificate which is for the time being in force.
