    Flüssig-Flüssig-Extraktion
    de
    liquid-liquid partition
    en
Definition the process of transferring a dissolved substance from one liquid phase to another (immiscible or partially miscible) liquid phase in contact with it. Although extraction, partition and distribution are not synonymous, extraction may replace distribution where appropriate. In liquid-liquid partition, liquid 1 is used to extract the analytes from the solid sample and liquid 2 is used to partition liquid 1. Reference "IUPAC. Compendium of Chemical Terminology, 2nd ed.
