    Comment 1. They include organophosphates, where RO group is replaced by an alkyl (R-) group, and organothiophosphates where oxygen in P=O is subsituted by S.2. They are used as pesticides, herbicides, insecticides as well as veterinary medicines. Many of them, but not all, are acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, which disrupt the transmission of nerve signals in exposed organisms, with fatal results.
