- Comment En France, le procureur général est le représentant du ministère public auprès de la Cour de cassation, de la cour d'appel et de la Cour des comptes. Le procureur de la République est le représentant du ministère public auprès du tribunal de grande instance. En Belgique, le procureur général représente le ministère public près les cours d'appel et les cours du travail. Au niveau du tribunal de première instance, du tribunal de police et du tribunal de l'entreprise c'est le procureur du Roi qui représente le ministère public. Cette distinction selon la nature et le degré de juridiction n'existe pas dans tous les systèmes judiciaires.
