    Comment The first strategy laying the foundations for the sustainable finance framework was set out in the Action Plan: Financing Sustainable Growth, presented by the European Commission in March 2018. Since then the understanding of what was needed to meet the sustainability goals had evolved and the global context had changed, therefore, in July 2021, the European Commission presented a new Strategy for Financing the Transition to a Sustainable Economy in a Communication of the same name.
