Depending on the legislation, the works council can have rights in relation to co-determination, consultation and the distribution of information within the company. Several legal systems in the EU require companies of over a certain size to establish such a representative body. - Comment En France, le comité social et économique (CSE) est une instance représentative du personnel qui résulte de la fusion des délégués du personnel, comité hygiène sécurité et conditions de travail (CHSCT) et comité d’entreprise. Le remplacement a eu lieu progressivement à compter du 1er janvier 2018. Le CSE est maintenant l'unique institution représentative du personnel dans l'entreprise et il reprend les atributions des anciennes instances qu'il remplace. Son fonctionnement et ses missions dépendent du nombre de salariés.
