These include the ICA 1968 (and its two extensions), the ICA 1976 (with one extension), 1983 (and its four extensions), the 1994 Agreement (with one extension) and the 2001 Agreement (with three extensions). The latest Agreement, the ICA 2007, was adopted by the International Coffee Council in September 2007 and entered into force definitively on 2 February 2011.

    Comment L'objectif était de créer l'OIC lors d'une conférence des Nations Unies sur le commerce et l'emploi se tenant à La Havane (Cuba), en 1947.Dans le même temps, 15 pays avaient engagé des pourparlers en décembre 1945 en vue de réduire et de consolider les tarifs douaniers, ce qui a abouti à un ensemble de règles commerciales et de concessions tarifaires (le GATT - Accord général sur les tarifs douaniers et le commerce [IATE:785236 ] ), signé le 30/10/1947).La conférence de La Havane a débuté le 21 novembre 1947, moins d'un mois après la signature du GATT. La Charte de La Havane instituant l’OIC, signée en1948, ne put finalement pas être ratifiée, principalement en raison d'une opposition du Congrès des États-Unis, ce qui signifia en pratique la mort de l’OIC.
