- Comment The task force agreed on four objectives:1. to achieve greater budgetary discipline (to strengthen the Stability and Growth Pact and make it more effective);2. to find means of reducing divergences in competitiveness between the Member States;3. to have an effective crisis mechanism; 4. to strengthen economic governance, in institutional terms, in order to be able to act more rapidly and in a more coordinated and efficient manner.
