However, due to Germany's suspension of NS2's certification in February 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the NS2 pipelines never entered into operation.---On September 26, 2022, a severe drop in pressure in both NS1 and NS2 was associated with a rupture in both pipes reportedly due to sabotage. None of the pipes are currently operable or operational, bringing the Nord Stream project to an effective standstill.
