In Ländern, in denen ein Schwangerschaftsabbruch illegal, gesetzlich stark eingeschränkt und/oder nicht verfügbar ist, haben Frauen kaum eine andere Wahl, als eine unsichere Abtreibung vornehmen zu lassen, was sie einem erhöhten Sterblichkeits- oder Erkrankungsrisiko aussetzt.

In countries where abortion is illegal, legally highly restricted and/or unavailable, women have little choice but to resort to unsafe abortion, which exposes them to an increased risk of mortality or morbidity.
