Comment The stacking tobacco fermentation method involves heaping the tobacco into large piles to raise the temperature and humidity. The tobacco is allowed to 'sweat'. The internal temperature is closely monitored and the stack is torn down and rebuilt several times to control the temperature. The kiln fermenting method uses an artificial heat source that helps to stimulate fermentation. Heat and humidity are carefully controlled.
