Definition "product obtained from the high temperature (+/- 1700˚) calcination of calcined dolomite [ IATE:1203602 ] (CaO + MgO)" Reference "COM-EN, based on:Cardelli, F. Materials handbook: a concise desktop reference. Springer, 2008. http://books.google.com/books?id=PvU-qbQJq7IC&pg=PA611&lpg=PA611&dq=burnt+calcined+dolomite&source=bl&ots=xCWWjosBQ9&sig=-xamGRs4bYahfU5-xtQOz_ncg4I&hl=en&ei=NTOETuiBKsacOuSCidUB&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CCoQ6AEwAzgK#v=onepage&q&f=false [4.10.2011]"
Comment This harsh treatment allows the material to shrink thoroughly and renders it less reactive than calcined dolomite. The product obtained is generally used for the refractory made by firing dolomite, with or without additives, at high temperatures to produce dense, well-shrunk particles.
