Comment "The Committee took up its duties on 1 January 2004. Its role was clarified by Decision 2009/78/EC, which repealed and replaced the earlier Decision. The Committee advised the European Commission, in particular as regards the preparation of draft implementing measures in the field of banking activities and in the field of financial conglomerates, on its own initiative or at the request of the Commission. It was composed of high-level representatives from the national public authorities competent for the supervision of credit institutions in the EU's Member States, the national central banks, and the European Central Bank. On 1 January 2011 it was replaced by the European Banking Authority [ IATE:3504774 ] established by Regulation (EU) No 1093/2010 [ CELEX:32010R1093/EN ]."
