- Comment Brüssel, 29.6.2006 Auf offizielle Aufforderung der Türkei an den Rat vom Juni 2022 hin wurde entschieden, in Englisch die Benennungen Türkiye/Republic of Türkiye (anstelle von Turkey/Republic of Turkey) zu verwenden. Diese Entscheidung wirkt sich nicht auf die Praxis in Deutsch aus, wo weiterhin die Benennungen Türkei/Republik Türkei verwendet werden, mit Ausnahme von förmlicher Kommunikation mit der Türkei bzw. von Abkommen, die direkt mit der Türkei geschlossen werden, wo die Vollform Republik Türkiye zu verwenden ist.

- Comment Signed: Brussels, 29.6.2006 Entry into force: 1.8.2007The Government of the Republic of Türkiye notified the United Nations in May 2022 and the Council of the European Union in June 2022 that it would begin using ‘Republic of Türkiye’ as the official name of the country in English and ‘Türkiye’ as a short form, replacing ‘Republic of Turkey’ and ‘Turkey’.

Cette décision n'a pas d'incidence sur la pratique en français et les appellations Turquie/République de Turquie doivent être conservées.
