- Comment The term 'protection-sensitive management' was used at the Expert Roundtable convened by UNHCR in November 2008 to explore practical ways to operationalise refugee and human rights protection in the context of entry control and border management. The notion of 'protection-sensitive' should not be restricted to ensuring adherence to international refugee law only. The notion called for the respect of people’s human rights and the dignified and respectful treatment of all persons within mixed movements, regardless of their status.
