Definition "part of an installation into which an installation is split in order to calculate an installation's allocation" Reference "COM-Terminology Coordination, based on:European Commission. 'Guidance Document n°2 on the harmonised free allocation methodology for the EU ETS post 2020' (20.9.2019). Guidance on determining the allocation at installation level. Final version issued on 15 February 2019"
Comment The first step in calculating the allocation of an installation is to define the so-called sub-installations. A sub-installation means all inputs, outputs and corresponding emissions related to a specific allocation approach. Note that the boundaries of a sub-installation are not necessarily defined by boundaries of physical process units. They should be understood as system boundaries of a mass and energy balance for the specific purpose of the FAR.
