- Comment Since spring 2016, the EU and NATO have been implementing and operationalising parallel procedures and playbooks for EU-NATO interaction in the areas of situational awareness; cyber security; crisis prevention and response and strategic communication. There have been various Parallel and Coordinated Exercises, e.g. PACE 18, carried out in November 2018, which combined the EU Hybrid Exercise – Multilayer 18 (EU HEX-ML 18) and NATO PACE 18.
