- Comment Frauenrechtsverteidigerinnen sind mit denselben Arten von Risiken konfrontiert wie alle, die sich für die Rechte von Menschen, Gemeinschaften und der Umwelt einsetzen, als Frauen sind sie aber auch geschlechtsspezifischen Risiken ausgesetzt und Zielscheibe geschlechtsbezogener Gewalt. - Comment WHRDs face the same types of risks as all defenders who work to uphold the rights of people, communities and the environment, but also, as women, they are exposed to gender-specific risks and are targets of gender-based violence. This may be due to the fact that WHRDs are perceived as opposed to accepted sociocultural norms, traditions and stereotypes about femininity and the role and status of women in society. Their work is often seen as challenging traditional notions of the family.

- Comment Les défenseurs des droits des femmes sont confrontés aux mêmes types de risques que tous les défenseurs qui œuvrent au respect des droits des personnes, des communautés et en matière d'environnement, mais quand ce sont des femmes, elles sont exposées à des risques spécifiques au genre et constituent des cibles de la violence fondée sur le genre. Cette situation peut s'expliquer par le fait que ces personnes sont perçues par opposition aux normes, traditions et stéréotypes socioculturels acceptés relatifs à la féminité et au rôle et statut des femmes dans la société. Leurs activités sont souvent perçues comme défiant les notions traditionnelles de la famille.
