    Comment Global Citizenship Education is a component of indicator 4.7.1 for Target 4.7 of Sustainable Development Goal 4: 'Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all'Indicator 4.7.1: 'Extent to which (i) global citizenship education and (ii) education for sustainable development are mainstreamed in (a) national education policies; (b) curricula; (c) teacher education; and (d) student assessment.'The Unesco Institute for Statistics Glossary says that the concept of Global Citizenship Education 'measures the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that underpin the concept. It is measured through two sub-categories: Global local thinking (positives attitudes towards their country of residence), and Multicultural(ism)/intercultural(ism) (positives attitudes towards ethnic/racial minorities).'
