    Comment Dans le domaine de la sécurité et de la santé au travail, la Commission était initialement assistée par deux comités consultatifs, à savoir l'Organe permanent pour la sécurité et la salubrité dans les mines de houille et les autres industries extractives (institué en 1957; mandat étendu par la décision 74/326/CEE) et le Comité consultatif pour la sécurité, l'hygiène et la protection de la santé sur le lieu de travail (institué par la décision 74/325/CEE). Compte tenu de l'évolution du monde du travail et du droit communautaire, il a été proposé de rationaliser le fonctionnement de ces deux comités en les fusionnant, en réduisant le nombre de leurs membres et en les dotant d'un secrétariat unique.
