    Comment "1. NACE was established in 1970 and provides the framework for collecting and presenting a large range of statistical data according to economic activity in the fields of economic statistics. 2. The abbreviation was used in the initial legal act and is ""derived from the French Nomenclature statistique des activités économiques dans la Communauté européenne”, which is the term still used by Eurostat itself. 3. The following versions of NACE have been created since it was established in 1970: - NACE Rev. 1, the first revision of the original NACE (1970) [ IATE:53816 ];- NACE Rev. 1.1, a minor update of NACE Rev. 1 [ IATE:871207 ];- NACE Rev. 2., a relatively large revision made in 2006 [ IATE:3543188 ];- NACE Rev. 2.1 - the first update to NACE Rev. 2."
