    Comment It is connected to the Greenland Sea in the North and the Labrador Sea in the south. The Irminger Sea has a surface area of around 780,000 km2. The sea is one of the most important fishing areas for red perch. Due to it being situated far north, the waters in the Irminger Sea tend to be cold, with ice floes often being visible on the surface.
