    Definition Ensemble de biens qui concourent à l'élaboration des biens de consommation. Ce sont des biens indirects, qui n'ont pas d'utilité propre, c'est-à-dire qui ne procurent par eux-mêmes aucune satisfaction. Dans cette optique, les biens d'équipement (capital technique), tout comme les matières premières, constituent des biens de production. L'opération de transformation des matières premières correspond à une destruction de celles-ci et on parle d'une opération de consommation intermédiaire dans cette situation.
