    Comment "Greater London was established in 1965 as an administrative unit covering the London metropolis and was used to form the London Region in 1994. It is the only Region in England with substantive devolved powers, following the creation of the Greater London Authority, London Assembly and Mayor of London in 2000. Greater London is subdivided into 32 London boroughs (IATE:3552833 ), each governed by a borough council, and the City of London, which has a unique government dating back to the 12th century.
