Comment It is a type of Rankine process where instead of water an organic fluid is used that has a much lower boiling point than water. The Rankine cycle is a process where a fuel is used to produce heat within a boiler, converting water into steam which then expands through a turbine producing useful work, developed in 1859 by Scottish engineer William J.M. Rankine.
