Elles proposent une orientation pour l'ensemble des mesures requises afin d'assurer une bonne gestion de la pêche de fond et couvrent les aspects suivants: - cadre réglementaire; - collecte, communication et évaluation de données; - recensement des écosystèmes marins vulnérables et évaluation des effets néfastes significatifs; - exécution et respect des mesures nécessaires à la conservation des espèces ciblées et non ciblées ainsi que des habitats.
