    Comment Present in beet-juice; manufactured by the air or nitric acid oxidation of cyclohexanol, the latter being obtained by the air oxidation of cyclohexane. Distillation of its calcium salt gives cyclopentanone. It forms long chain polymers with diamines and is very largely used in the manufacture of Nylon. It is also used for the manufacture of plasticizers and certain vinyl and urethane plastics
