Definition an angle which is peculiar to parachute canopies of conical design. The surface of such canopy types can be represented by the surface of a regular pyramid. The magnitude of the cone angle is then equal to the angle measured from a plane parallel to the base and containing the vertex,to the line representing the pyramid slant height. For canopies of multiple conical design,i.e.,bi-conical and tri-conical,the cone angle is the angle measured to the surface nearest the apex, while the angle to the next surface(bi-conical)is the'second cone angle'and if a third unique surface is involved(tri-conical),the angle measured to this surface is called the'third cone angle' Reference Multilingual Aeronautical Dictionary(AGARD,1980)
