    Comment These rights are differently regulated across diverse countries. In some countries, for example, gay men can have children with a surrogate mother, in others not. Similarly, in some countries women can have abortions within certain constraints, in others not. The use of the word ‘rights’ has come to signify a claim to an unalienable entitlement. Hence ‘reproductive rights’ are spoken of in the context of the regulation of reproduction to signal the stance that reproduction should be a matter of choice for the individuals concerned.
