- Comment 1. Plusieurs personnes utilisent en même temps le véhicule de l'une d'entre elles. Ce partage peut être effectué à titre gracieux ou en échange d'une participation aux frais de déplacement (péage, carburant). Le partage des frais n'est pas soumis à la TVA, ne constitue pas un revenu et le conducteur n'est pas soumis à cotisations sociales. Le conducteur doit au minimum avoir souscrit une assurance responsabilité civile.2. Il faut distinguer clairement la pratique du covoiturage du transport public, qu’il s’agisse du transport public collectif (transport en commun) ou du transport public particulier (taxi et VTC).Ne pas confondre avec l'autopartage.
