    Comment En cas de départ d’incendie, ce sont les éléments du système d’alarme chargés de la détection qui s’activent, il s’agit dans la plupart des cas de détecteurs de fumée, dont le fonctionnement s’appuie sur des capteurs photoélectriques détectant les fumées dans l’air ambiant. Il peut aussi s’agir de capteurs de température ou de cellules capables de mesurer la présence de CO2 dans l’air.Une alarme incendie peut aussi être déclenchée manuellement, les établissements recevant du public sont équipés de boitiers rouges prévus à cet effet. Une fois l’alarme déclenchée, les éléments du dispositif destinés à l’information entrent en jeu. L’information consiste à signaler l’incendie dans l’édifice à l’aide d’une sirène qui retentit dans tout l’espace et qui peut s’accompagner d’un signal lumineux.
