    Comment L’avantage de ce modèle est que les entreprises ne doivent pas supporter les lourdes charges financières des usines. Cependant, de crainte que les fonderies étendent leur offre à la conception et au prototypage, certaines entreprises sans usine («fabless») conservent de petites chaînes de fabrication en interne pour n’externaliser qu’une partie de leur fabrication. On parle alors du modèle dit «fab-lite».
