    Comment The Single European Sky launched by the European Commission was drafted with the following objectives: to restructure European airspace as a function of air traffic flows, rather than according to national borders; to create additional capacity; and to increase the overall efficiency of the air traffic management system. In 2004, the SES I package, including four regulations and several implementing rules, was adopted by the European Commission and later approved by the European Council. In June 2008, the SES II package towards more sustainable and better performing aviation was adopted by the European Commission.
