Comment "Examples of gap-filling mechanisms in the field of renewable energy:The Governance Regulation allows for an evaluation of the national energy and climate plans of the Member States to assess whether the objectives, strategies and measures are ambitious enough to fully achieve the European 2030 framework targets. If not and a so-called ambition gap is identified, Annex II to the Governance Regulation provides an algorithm that defines the allocation of the missing percentage points with respect to renewable energies to the Member States. In terms of delivery gaps, Member States shall implement additional measures to cover the gap compared to their national reference points, within one year following the date of reception of the Commission's assessment showing that one or more of the reference points of the indicative Union trajectory in 2022, 2025 and 2027 were not met.
