    Definition Local breeds shall be considered as being in danger of being lost to farming if the following conditions are fulfilled:(a) the number, at national level, of breeding females concerned is stated;(b) that number and the endangered status of the listed breeds is certified by a duly recognised relevant scientific body;(c) a duly recognised relevant technical body registers and keeps up-to-date the herd or flock book for the breed;(d) the bodies concerned possess the necessary skills and knowledge to identify animals of the breeds in danger.
