- Nóta Antigens selected foruse in the MAT should include representative strains of the serogroups known to exist in theparticular region plus those known to be maintained elsewhere by the host species under test.The MAT is used to test individual animals and herds. The minimum significant dilution is 1/100. However, this may be too high to detect chronic infection in individual animals and endemic infection in herds, leading to consideration of other methods.
