    Comment "1) More specifically, the NOEC is defined as the test concentration below the lowest concentration that did result in a significant effect in the specific experiment, i.e. the NOEC is the tested concentration next below the LOEC2) The effect can be based on a population endpoint which is used to for risk assessment application, such as survival, growth or reproduction (termed the adverseNOEC) or possibly on a biomarker response (termed the biomarkerNOEC).3) Since NOEC is highly dependent on dose group setting in ecotoxicity studies, some authorites prefer the use of ECx as chronic endpoints.
