- Comment "The right to respect for one's private and family life is a traditional fundamental right. It guarantees the protection of the person against the intervention or interference of the public authorities in the private sphere. Such interference is tolerated, as is the case for the other limits placed on the liberties of the person, only insofar as it is lawful and necessary to maintain law and order. In this respect, the provisions of Article 8(2) of the European Convention on Human Rights ('legitimate' limitations) apply to Article 7 of the EU Charter. - Comment "Le droit au respect de la vie privée et familiale est un droit fondamental classique. Il garantit la protection de la personne contre les immixtions ou ingérences des autorités publiques dans la sphère privée. De telles ingérences sont tolérées, comme pour les autres limites apportées aux libertés rattachées à la personne, uniquement dans la mesure où elles sont légales et nécessaires au maintien de l'ordre public.
