- Comment "With the IPPV principle, the patient’s respiratory system is integrated into the ventilator system. A positive pressure is applied intermittently to the patient’s airway. When the airway pressure is temporarily higher than the alveolar pressure, fresh gas is pushed into the lungs, the process of inspiration.
