- Comment Les stratégies macrorégionales définissent un cadre permettant à des zones géographiques spécifiques s'étendant sur plusieurs États membres et pays tiers de relever ensemble les défis communs auxquels elles sont confrontées. Trois stratégies de ce type ont été adoptées à ce jour: région de la mer Baltique (2009), région du Danube (2011) et région de l'Adriatique et de la mer Ionienne (2014).Cette stratégie concerne 7 pays, dont cinq sont membres de l'UE (Allemagne, Autriche, France, Italie et Slovénie) et 2 pays non membres de l'UE (Liechtenstein et Suisse), et 48 régions.
