Comment The inability of a bank to provide customers with their money upon request causes inconvenience and often results in a panic, swiftly spreading to affect other banks. To avoid this danger, most countries have public bodies which supervise banks, to prevent their getting into difficulties, and central banks to rescue them if they do.
