en
Definition test that detects certain antibodies against a pathogen in order to diagnose current or past infection or that detects antimitochondrial antibodies and/or antinuclear antibodies in order to diagnose an auto-immune disease Reference "COM-Terminology Coordination, based on:1) Lab Tests Online. 'Antibody Identification' (15.4.2020)2) Geneviève Cadieux, Jennifer Campbell, and Nandini Dendukuri. Comment In the case of antibodies against pathogens, provided that the test itself is reliable, the accuracy depends largely on the pathogen, as often antibodies become detectable in the patient’s blood only several days after infection, and antibodies persist for some more or less big period of time after the infection has cleared.
