- Nóta preservative measures may be divided into: a) treatment to give temporary protection to recently felled timber against attack by insects, sap-stain fungi, or both (spray treatment); b) pre-treatment of round or sawn timber, i.e. before it is put into use;c) treatment of timber in use but before remedial treatment is necessary;d) remedial and curative treatment of in situ timber that has been attacked by fungi, insects, or both.
