It examines reports on the state of conservation of inscribed properties and asks States Parties to take action when properties are not being properly managed. It also decides on the inscription or deletion of properties on the List of World Heritage in Danger.

- Nóta C’est à lui de décider si un site est accepté pour inscription sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial. Il examine les rapports sur l’état de conservation des sites inscrits et demande aux États parties de prendre des mesures lorsque les sites ne sont pas correctement gérés. Il décide également de l’inscription des sites sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial en péril et de leur retrait de cette liste.
