    Definition C'est le principal organe intergouvernemental chargé de mettre en place et de coordonner la lutte internationale contre la drogue. Réunissant 53 Etats Membres, elle étudie la consommation et le trafic de drogues dans le monde et formule des propositions visant à renforcer la lutte internationale contre le trafic de drogues. Elle veille à la mise en œuvre des traités et principes directeurs de lutte contre la drogue, ainsi que des mesures adoptées à cet égard par l’Assemblée générale. Elle dirige également les travaux du Programme des Nations Unies pour le contrôle international des drogues * (PNUCID). La Commission comprend cinq organes subsidiaires chargés de promouvoir la coopération et la coordination à l’échelon régional en Afrique, en Asie et dans le Pacifique, en Europe, en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes, ainsi qu’au Proche-Orient et au Moyen-Orient.
