    Comment "En France, la première AOC viticole a été créée en 1935. Les premières appellations fromagères sont reconnues dans les années 1950.L'AOP [ IATE:853080 ] est la transposition au niveau européen de l'AOC française. En effet, la politique française de valorisation des produits agricoles a inspiré l’élaboration d’une réglementation européenne, qui a établi en 1992 le concept d’Appellation d’origine protégée, équivalent européen de l’AOC.La reconnaissance d’une AOC en France est une étape préalable à la reconnaissance d'une AOP au niveau européen, selon le règlement communautaire (UE) n°1308/2013 portant organisation commune des marchés des produits agricoles. Le refus d’enregistrement en AOP par la Commission Européenne fait perdre au produit le bénéfice de l’AOC au plan national.Par ailleurs, si l'AOC permet la protection du nom du produit sur le territoire français en attendant son enregistrement et sa protection au niveau européen, elle peut également être octroyée à des produits non-concernés par l'AOP, comme le bois."
