- Sainmhíniú ending of a country's eligibility to borrow from a financial institution when a country has reached a level of institutional development and capital-market access that enables it to sustain its own development process without recourse to the institution's funding Tagairt "Council-ET and EN based on: World Bank Group, e-library, Crossing the threshold: An analysis of IBRD graduation policy, http://elibrary.worldbank.org/doi/abs/10.1596/1813-9450-5531# [15.11.2016]"
- Nóta "In the context of the World Bank, economies are divided into the operational lending categories IDA, IBRD and Blend countries, based on the World Bank's operational policies. A country can 'graduate' from the International Development Association (IDA) lending category to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). Upon graduation from the IBRD, the relevant country ceases to be a client of the bank (e.g. 'IBRD graduation'). The same applies to graduation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ('EBRD graduation'). There is also a World Bank classification which divides economies into income groups, which feed into the process for determining lending categories.See IATE:3571118 for 'graduation' in the context of Official Development Assistance (ODA)."
