    Comment The IADC Guidelines were taken as a basis for the Space Debris Mitigation Guidelines of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.The Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC) is an international forum of space agencies, authorized governmental or inter-governmental entities for the coordination of activities related to the issues of human-made and natural debris in space. It recommends debris mitigation guidelines, with an emphasis on cost effectiveness, that can be considered during planning and design of spacecraft and launch vehicles in order to minimise or eliminate generation of debris during and after the missions.

    Comment Le Comité de coordination inter-agences sur les débris spatiaux (IADC) regroupe les principales agences spatiales au niveau modial. Il est force de recommandation auprès du Comité des Nations unies pour l’utilisation pacifique de l’espace extra-atmosphérique (COPUOS). Les lignes directrices de l'IADC ont été avalisées par l'ONU et ont servi de base aux lignes directrices des Nations unies relatives à la réduction des débris spatiaux adoptées par le COPUOS.
