- Nóta "When discussing arrest warrants in relation to the UK, it is important to remember that ther are separate jurisdictions within the UK. . In general, a Scottish judge has no jurisdiction to grant a warrant which will be enforceable by a police officer on his authority in England, and an English judge has no jurisdiction to grant a warrant which will be enforceable by a police officer on his authority in Scotland. . In spite of the separate jurisdictions, there has been judicial cooperation between England and Scotland in relation to arrest warrants pursuant to the Summary Jurisdiction (Process) Act 1881 (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1881/24/pdfs/ukpga_18810024_en.pdf ). . There is also an exception to the general rule for border areas (e.g. Northumberland/Dumfries and Galloway) pursuant to the changes made by Schedule 13 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/39/contents ), which repealed and replaced Seection 18 of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967 (http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1967/77 )"
