—(1) Féadfaidh duine ar bith gur mian leis aon daingean mara do thógáil ar aon tráigh mhara nách leis féin agus nách le Saorstát Éireann a iarraidh ar an Aire a údarú dho an daingean san do thógáil, agus leis sin féadfaidh an tAire, más deimhin leis gur gá daingean mara do thógáil chun maoine an duine sin do chosaint agus gur cheart agus gur chóir comhacht do thabhairt don duine sin an daingean san do thógáil, féadfaidh le hordú a údarú don duine sin an daingean mara luaidhtear san iarratas san uaidh, go pé atharuithe (más aon cheann é) is dóich leis an Aire is ceart do luadh, do thógáil ar an tráigh mhara san.
—(1) Any person desiring to erect on any seashore which is not owned by him and does not belong to Saorstát Eireann any sea defence work may apply to the Minister for authority to erect such work, and thereupon the Minister, if he is satisfied that the erection of a sea defence work is necessary for the protection of the property of such person and that it is right and proper that such person should be empowered to erect such work, may by order authorise such person to erect on such seashore the sea defence work mentioned in his said application with such (if any) modifications as the Minister shall think proper to specify.
